Frequently asked questions
Will compressing decrease document text quality?
No. Only images are recompressed; text, fonts and vector graphics are kept exactly as they are and stay sharp and selectable. Unused data is removed.
Why didn't my file get smaller?
PDFs that are mostly text or already optimized have little to remove. Compression helps most with scans and photos. You're never charged an export when nothing is saved.
What does Ultra compression do?
It scales large images down further, uses stronger JPEG compression and converts images to grayscale. It's part of Pro; Standard and High quality are free.
Are my files kept private and secure?
Yes. The tool runs entirely in your browser: your files are processed on your device and never uploaded to our servers, so there's nothing for us to store, see or leak.
Is there a file size limit for free users?
Free accounts and guests can process files up to 10 MB. Pro and Team raise the limit to 100 MB per file.
Do I need to create an account or install software?
There's nothing to install: the tool runs in your web browser. You can drop a file and process it right away without an account. To download the result, sign in or create a free account (3 free downloads a month), or go Pro for unlimited downloads.
Is it free?
Yes. With a free account you can download up to 3 files a month from any tool, or upgrade to Pro for unlimited use.
